In June of 1978, the Sneaker Factory first opened its doors in Millburn, New Jersey and made its first sale: a pair of Etonic Street Fighters! It’s been over 25 years since the first sale and we continue to provide expert care for runners of all ages and abilities.

We offer expert advice and the largest selection of most well-regarded running products available anywhere. Stop by the store and you will see first hand what it is like to have the largest inventory of running, track and field, cross country, road racing shoes and apparel in the area.

All employees of the Sneaker Factory are individually trained by Dean Shonts. Dean is well known as the “Master of All Things Running” and has earned a well respected reputation among his peers and thousands of customers who seek his expertise. The Sneaker Factory has a long history of working with many of New Jersey’s premier road races, starting in 1978 with the Sneaker Factory Summer Series in South Mountain Reservation. Over the years, highlights include The New Jersey Waterfront Marathon, which served as the 1988 Men’s Olympic Trials, and the Volvo Midland Run. Current events on the calendar include the popular President’s Cup Night Race in downtown Millburn and the Lord Sterling Swamp Devil Run in Basking Ridge. The Sneaker Factory is involved in putting on 16 road races and triathlons in NJ. These races take place in many parts of the State of New Jersey including, Basking Ridge, Newark, East Brunswick, Madison, Summit and Maplewood just to name a few.
