Spring 2012: Marathon/Half Marathon Training

(14 weeks) 

Group runs begin January 28*—Register early to get your training plan in advance AND save money. Price increases January 18.

It’s not too early to think about spring…especially if you are considering a marathon or half marathon. Let SFRU help you reach your running goals.

SFRU will provide a training plan and the guidance to personalize it. You will also get weekly face time with a certified running coach, and the opportunity to enjoy your long runs as part of a group. Coach will plan routes for long runs and provide beverages. Group runs will begin Jan. 28, which happens to be 14 weeks before the New Jersey Marathon and Long Branch Half, but your training can plan be customized for any late spring race you are planning to enter.

Programs are open to all experience levels, however: if you are planning to run a spring marathon you should be entering the program with a training base. In other words, if you haven’t run a step in months, you should NOT be starting marathon training on January 28!  (Consider a half-marathon instead!)

*Note: While most of our runs will take place on Sunday morning, there will be a couple of weekends that we will meet on Saturday instead. We rotate locations, using many local parks in the Millburn, Summit, Morristown and Basking Ridge area. Exact schedule will be posted soon.

All new SFRU participants receive a tech t-shirt. Returning participants receive a $20 discount.

Spring 2012: Beginners and Beyond-5K and 10K Program

(10 weeks) 

All level program—from first time runners, to more experienced runners looking to improve race times--we have fun running together on Sundays throughout the spring.

Program begins April 15. Register early, price increases April 5.

SFRU gives all runners a training plan and the guidance to personalize it, a fun group environment and expert coaching on a weekly basis. When we meet to run, the coach will have a route planned and provide drinks.

Group meets at various parks in the Millburn, Summit, Morristown and Basking Ridge areas at 8AM on Sundays.

All new SFRU participants receive a tech t-shirt. Returning participants receive a $20 discount.
